The City of Rio de Janeiro will take part in the fourth edition of Web Summit Rio, from June 8 to 11, at Riocentro, with an Invest.Rio booth dedicated to promoting the city’s innovation ecosystem. Throughout the event, various municipal agencies will showcase projects and initiatives in technology, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and economic development, reinforcing Rio’s position as a hub for innovation and investment attraction.

As the largest technology and innovation conference in Latin America, Web Summit Rio is expected to bring together more than 40,000 participants, 600 investors, and 1,500 startups from different countries in 2026. Since its arrival in the city in 2023, the event has welcomed nearly 100,000 attendees and helped establish Rio as one of the continent’s leading innovation centers.

The City Hall booth was designed to present Rio as a city that combines a business-friendly environment, innovation capacity, and quality of life. The space will include areas for networking, coworking, institutional presentations, and meetings among entrepreneurs, investors, and public-sector representatives.

One of the highlights of this year’s edition is the Startup Island, which will host three Rio-based companies each day to present innovative solutions to investors and potential partners. The program will also feature the launch of the Rio Innovation Map, a digital platform that brings together the city’s main innovation assets, activities related to the Sandbox.Rio program—recognized nationally as a benchmark regulatory environment for innovation—as well as meetings focused on attracting investment and generating business opportunities.

The booth will also serve as a stage for announcements and discussions on technology applied to public management. Key highlights include the launch of partnerships, AI-related projects, and debates on public safety, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.

The program will also include a visit from a Canadian delegation composed of companies interested in exploring investment opportunities in Rio, as well as happy hour events organized in partnership with Visit Rio to connect startups, investors, and industry leaders.

According to Invest.Rio President Sidney Levy, the continued presence of Web Summit in the city strengthens Rio’s position as an international innovation reference.

“Web Summit Rio has become a global showcase for the city’s innovation ecosystem. Our booth reflects this momentum by bringing together startups, investors, companies, and public-sector representatives in an environment focused on generating business opportunities and building partnerships that help drive Rio’s economy,” said Sidney Levy.

The hosting of Web Summit Rio is the result of collaboration between Invest.Rio and the event organizers. In 2025, the partnership was renewed for another five years, ensuring that the conference will remain in the city through 2030.
